Consultancy at Castons
CDM Consultancy
Originally introduced in 1994 then updated in 2015, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations govern health and safety in construction. Castons takes on the role of CDM principal designer in your projects to ensure compliance with these regulations, in addition to advising you on health and safety matters and coordinating your team.
As part of our comprehensive CDM consultancy service, we take care of all your health and safety concerns, from drawing up your health and safety plan and keeping it updated to providing any health and safety training that you or your contractors may require. We can support you in obtaining health and safety accreditations, including NEBOSH and CITB, through our dedicated training courses. We’ve already helped thousands of high-profile clients across the UK to achieve their training goals and, with our specialist knowledge, are confident that we can help you, too.
Fund monitoring
As a FSQS-registered IMS provider accredited by Hellios, Castons conducts independent fund monitoring surveys to advise lenders on potential risks. Our experts appraise potential projects in order to identify any risks, before producing a report detailing their findings. Each report is tailored to the lender’s specific needs, covering aspects such as costs, the project plan and the suitability of contractors and designers. We’ll also discuss planning permission, insurance and contracts with you, to ensure that no stone is left unturned when it comes to making an informed decision.
Once the project in question is underway, we monitor progress and deal with any risks that may arise along the way. One of the ways we do this is through debt drawdown, which basically means issuing funds gradually rather than releasing the full amount in one go, in order to prevent the amount lent from being misspent. Our regular progress reports keep you in the loop, further demonstrating how we protect your interests as a lender throughout our projects, in terms of guaranteeing profit and limiting exposure to risks.
Become a consultant
If you understand the ins and outs of construction or simply like to give good advice, you might like to consider a career as a consultant. At Castons, we support motivated applicants at all stages of their careers, so, whether you’ve been working as a consultant for years or are just getting started, we want to hear from you.
