Health and safety
We make health and safety simple
At Castons, we understand that health and safety regulations can be complex. That’s why our experts are on hand to advise you on any potential risks and help you put an effective health and safety plan in place. We also take care of your DSE (display screen equipment) and fire risk assessments, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
In addition to guaranteeing that you fulfil all your legal obligations, we can provide specialist health and safety training to ensure all your employees and contractors are up to speed. We can also help you to achieve any relevant first aid qualifications and necessary accreditations, such as NEBOSH and CITB recognition, as required.
The UK’s updated Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, also known as the CDM, were introduced in 2015, with the aim of governing health and safety on construction projects. It is a legal requirement to comply with the CDM when working on any new builds, conversions, refurbishments, extensions, and demolitions – in addition to when carrying out any maintenance or repair work. Castons takes on the role of principal designer and principal contractor for your project, in order to guarantee compliance and oversee all health and safety matters throughout both the pre-construction and construction stages.
We ensure that you are aware of your own duties under the CDM, in addition to planning, managing and monitoring health and safety throughout the course of your project. We also prepare and continually update your health and safety documentation, as appropriate. We identify any potential risks and put measures in place to eliminate or reduce them, further ensuring that everyone working on your project is sufficiently skilled or qualified to safely deliver on their promises. Finally, we guarantee effective communication and cooperation between all team members, in addition to ensuring the provision of appropriate welfare facilities throughout the duration of their work.
